Yeah they announced a FF Foveon a while back for their L-mount line of cameras. I think release is 2020, and it'll use a 1:1:1 sensor like the Merrills, but with an equivalent resolution of 60+ megapixels

Interesting. Their continuation shows that there is still room for niche products.

Recently got this SD quatro H

Few photos with this setup, No adjustments, just RAW to JPEG then to PNG conversion. I'm going to try DNG instead.

f2
ISO-160

I found out that developing (converting) photos in the camera is better then Sigma Pro software.
Posted photos above were converted in Sigma Pro software.

Own 20 something cameras, this is by far the sharpest of them all. I'd pick this camera over anything else I've used including Sony A7 II and Pentax K1.

That's sick! I've heard the H is super sharp, with fantastic colors.

As expected, the camera is best used outdoors on under ISO 200.
Few shots indoors, camera was struggling with color, casting a lot of green tint.
Soviet 1.8/100 projector lens (no aperture).

With this lens and much higher iso Sony A7 series would run circles around this camera. Still, I think it's worth every penny and then some.
One thing I've noticed about this camera, it generates a LOT of heat, especially around the lens mount.

Hi fiveseven good to see another Foveon fan on this page! Good to keep this page alive! While we wait patiently for the Foveon Fullframe....

I got a SD Quattro and a DP2 Quattro last year and ever since I love it so much that, even though the SA mount is now history, I got some lenses for it, both new and old. Like you I have found that the old manual glass (via m42 to SA adapter) renders with a green tint. Where it is too much, I convert to black and white. Lovely images nevertheless; it is the film like look, the colours and extreme detail that i like, and that even my K1mkII struggles to match sometimes.

Love to see more of your work and impressions.

Shot with the Sigma Art 70 Macro and last one 85 HSM EX:

My Sigma collection.

SD Quattro H, DP1, DP2M and DP3M.
Add on optical viewfinder makes a big difference, especially for manual focus.

Very nice gear you have! Do you plan to get the new fp or wait for FF foveon ?

Thanks, no, I don't have a need for a new FF and as far I can tell that camera is more geared toward video shooters, which I don't do. As for FF Foveon, maybe someday, not in a rush.

I absolutely love DP-M series and based on all reviews out there I don't have an issue with camera's speed at all. Battery life is another story. If Sigma made a battery grip for those small cameras it would have been the product I'd pay a lot for.....even if it was half the camera cost.

Sure, happy to oblige! Here are some DP2 Quattro / SD Quattro images. Natural light, processing in Sigma sloow software.
