Good luck with your new camera.

I've used a K7; K5 and have a 5D and K30.
I've got to say that Pentax moved ahead a lot over the K7 with the K5, and refined it on the K5IIs and most of your comparisons of 6D to K7 would be a non-issue or swung in favor of a K5IIs (or even K30).

FF does give less DOF for the same FOV, but thats not all to a photo.
I do end up using my FF for family shots and street photography where I want less DOF for isolation.
Otherwise, Travels; studio portraits on a strobist setyp; etc, I prefer the K30 (smaller/ lighter / small nice lenses / more DOF or DOF don't need to be the least; a joy to use as a camera)
Macro, its hard to beat the Q.
So right camera for the appropriate job.

Same here, you litterally describe my preferences!

In the end I am going to leave Pentax as well, I guess. i have already sold last year the expensive lenses (my limiteds). This year I will try very hard not to buy any bodies or lenses and see where the camera industry develops....

Good look with your incursion on the other side, I too also bought another system recently, an u4/3 though, sold my expensive Pentax glass to fund it.

Still keeping my K7, K2 and MZ5 and cheaper glass, such a joy to use, but need a less bulkier system for traveling.
