For anybody who hasn't yet used an E-M5: Five-axis IBIS is simply amazing.

If they had added a built in viewfinder it would have been a very interesting camera.
But I will have to take a look at it as soon as it hits the stores

'Ultimate'? Probably not... A very nice evolutionary step that, to me anyway, suggests that the Pen ethos has finally matured.

I think the significant features are mainly subtle things that will be most noticeable to photographers already familiar, and frustrated, with the Pen line. 1/8000", tilting screen, proper twin-dials, MySet assignable to the mode dial and, most importantly, the same battery and charger as my EM5 means it'll probably be my first non-EVF purchase. These things might not look as pretty on a spec sheet as 'wifi' or 'QR reader', but for the working photog they're the ones that will make the experience that much more satisfying.

Looks good, but I'd still choose an NEX over the Olympus M4/3 system.

Already chosen a Fuji.

I am so not going to get buyer's remorse just because the Oly looks really purdy. Besides which, the Fuji is kinda pretty too. But it doesn't have IBIS. Damn!

Seriously, nice looking camera and quite a tasty looking spec sheet. Not sure that the prettiness is worth the premium over the OM-D, though.

It took about 2yrs for the E-P3 to get in the $300+ range with kit lens... It will probably take the same amount of time for the E-P5 to drop in price... Once the new OM-D gets announced the price will fall on the e-p5 to a more say "somewhat affordable" price..my thinking around the 699 or 799 range... Anyhow it is a pretty camera... I also like the Fuji bodies.. a friend at work has one, and they are pretty nice...

Nah, next year Oly is gonna release an upgraded OMD w all the stuff in EP5 plus something better in an improved OMD body, maybe even an improved sensor too. When you think that's gonna be the ultimate mirrorless camera, Oly is gonna release an EP7 ... There is no end, there always be something better coming out next year

I'm wondering if Oly will exist at all in 2-3 years.

Not with the 1 system, especially at current prices.

A few years back when Olympus' accounting scandals surfaced, it's said that Olympus would be gone very soon. But seems they are still pushing out better and better products. Although OMD is a bit over priced (IMO), it's been sold like hot cake ever since it came out, I'm sure the new EP5 will be the same. And Olympus will be there for a long time

Why is this ultimate? In what way is it better than the OMD? Actually the one I'm waiting for from Oly is the one that focuses their incredible 4/3 glass at a decent clip. Some of the m4/3 primes are nice, but the zooms are pedestrian compared to what is available on 4/3.

Can't see how its 'ultimate'.
More like rehashed to me.
The OMD is probably still the best m4/3 for now (though Panny users may disagree)

Typical of the Oly EP line, its always slow to bring in improvements, but big on marketing claims.
It took ages for them to improve on the CDAF and when it finally happened in the EP3, they hailed it as 'World's fastest' (even when the Panasonics were always better with the AF and as good if not faster by the time of the EP3)
The old EP/EPL screen were low res and horrible, and again, they touted it as a 'leap' when they finally moved to a higher res screen.
Even the built in EVF of the OMD, panny had it in the G and GH series long before.
