Much thanks for the feedback. I find a side by side picture from a Chinese forum

And the size is very encouraging .... I think closer to a Konica AR to NEX adapter.

My other concern is on the use of the adapter on wider lens as in 17/20/24. I wonder if the added glass element will add severe distortion as I do see some discussions on distortion and corner sharpness leading the adapter not appropriate for certain use for some lenses.

Thanks again,
Hin

Some Takumar M42s on my lens turbo
in the first picture is my Jupiter 85mm f2..the white elastic band is there so I have no chance of dust getting to my sensor since I do not take the Lens Turbo off
BTW, my genuine Pentax M42 adapter is a bit loose on lens turbo - nothing like that it will come out but a bit loose. What's your experience?

I did not succed in using my M42 to PK adapter on the lens turbo. Can you tell or show us how you install the adapter in the lens turbo?

Is it loose? ..My genuine pentax adapter is too.. I prefer a generic adapter it is not as wiggly but it does take some effort to install

My genuine adapter is loose as well. But once the M42 lens such as a SuperTakumar 55mm f/1.8 or other similar m42 lens is mounted on the Lens Turbo K adapter, my setup works really well without any play. However, the same setup doesn't work with one of my lens with the Industar 50-2 50mm f/3.5 as the lens is too small to get tighten up with the M42 to K adapter. Please do check on various M42 lens and you may find out what works and what does not.

If any of you are interested in using M42 lens on NEX. I have a blog post that may be of some interest to you especially if you have a Konica AR mount

http://www.techtheman.com/2013/08/how-to-adapt-m42-lenses-on-nex.html

The premise is the smaller size on the Konica AR to NEX adapter and together with the silver screw mount adapter for M42 to Konica AR, one can use the M42 mount lens with a smaller setup. Not that it shorten the overall length but it will look smaller due to the smaller AR adapter

more detail in blog post

And I have posted various blog posts regarding the use of Lens Turbo with K-mount and M42 mount lens in my learning blog. I have my blog links in my signature or the links above.

Cheers,
Hin

Got the Turbo at an ebay auction for just USD99. Here it is with my NEX 6 and FA77

Center sharpness is fine. Beyond my expectations. This shot is at F1.8

Corner sharpness is lower as expected

Great, be sure to start sharing your shots in the "NEX System Pictures Thread". We'd love to see your stuff.

Super-Takumar 35mm f/3.5 mounted solidly with
genuine m42 to K adapter + Zhongyi Lens Turbo for K-mount

with nex 5n, LT, Super-Tak 35mm f/3.5
1/60 sec, 35mm, f/3.5, iso 320, -0.3 Ev

1/60 sec, 35mm, f/3.5, iso 1000, -1.3 Ev

The above are not good pictures to show as the lens has better image quality when used without the LT but I like the 37mm FOV with the adapter.

I always prefer the genuine m42 adapter, if you have loose stopping plate or the screw on the 3rd party adapter, you can easily get your camera/lens stuck. I wrote about my bad experience with Bower adapter in m42 nightmare article with 3rd party adapters in which I was scrambling to free a stuck adapter from an adapter with loose stopping plate and screw. More lens turbo in my learning blog in signature.

And Yusuf, you have beautiful pictures and I especially like the last one.
