New Sigma Glass for 2014

List of new Sigma DSLR lenses rumored to be announced in 2014 | Photo Rumors

Sigma 24-105mm f/4 OS
Sigma 24-70mm f/2 OS HSM
Sigma 300mm f/2.8 OS
Sigma 400mm f/2.8 OS
Sigma 500mm f/4 OS
Sigma 600mm f/4 OS
Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG OS
Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG
a new Sigma 50mm f/1.4 lens is also a possibility

Might get 2 or 3 of those in K-mount by 2015.

Mostly interested in the 24-70 F/2, 24 F1.4, and the 135 F1.8. If they are all as sharp as the 18-35, I will love them super much. Flare resistance would be nice if they improved it, but I'll take what I can get.

(Assuming they come with HSM/quickshift that my Sigma 50 F1.4 has right now).

As I always look for a suitable long tele lens, I immediately saw that the 400/2.8 would be an interesting option.

Now I wonder if a 400/2.8 would be as big/heavy as a 500/4.5 (available for Pentax) ...
What would be the corresponding F-value if one was to attach a 1.4X TC on that ?

I suppose if this ever becomes available for Pentax, considering cost as opposed to a 500/4.5, it would be something to look into.

Using the basic N=F/D calculation,

500/4.5 would be 111mm front element diameter.
400/2.8 would be 142mm front element diameter.

I think it'll be quite a bit heavier than the 500 F4.5.

This Sigma 50mm F/1.4 is due for an upgrade with the new ART line and USB Dock.

That 135mm f1.8 DG OS looks very interesting and it should be priced lower than the 135mm f1.8 Zeiss lens .

If I remember correctly that picture is a mock-up and NOT the actual lens.

Let'c compare the Sigma 135mm F/1.8 to the Pentax version.... Or maybe the 24mm F/1.4? Or the 24-70mm F/2.0?

Pentax doesn't make any of the lenses on the list (other than the 50mm). Hard to know what Pentax versions would look like or weigh.

Now I wonder if a 400/2.8 would be as big/heavy as a 500/4.5 (available for Pentax) ... What would be the corresponding F-value if one was to attach a 1.4X TC on that ? I suppose if this ever becomes available for Pentax, considering cost as opposed to a 500/4.5, it would be something to look into. Thanks for the "news". JP
