My Harper's BAZAAR and Nikon D800 & Pentax K-01 Fashion Story

Hi All,

If interested, I want to share my first fashion editorial using my new Nikon D800 for the November Issue of Harper's BAZAAR. For most of the 10 page editorial I used the Nikkor 85mm f1.8G lens as well as the Nikkor 50mm f1.8G for another one.

In all cases, all of the images were shot wide open at f1.8.

Video shot with the Pentax K-01 and the Pentax 18-250 lens.

Thanks
Ben

I have to say Ben, whatever you shoot with, your work is always impressive... don't listen to those guys who say you shouldn't show your work here because it's not shot with a Pentax. Some of us just like good photography and couldn't care less if you were shooting with a Brownie, which I'm also confident you'd make look good.

not interested, post it on the D800 forum!

It could well be argued that your post is inflammatory and rude; therefore in violation of forum rules.

I visit your site(s) fairly often, some very nice work there and a wide assortment of ideas and styles. The only problem is that your site(s) keep getting larger and larger, and it is difficult to navigate without losing track of where you are or where you have been. I guess that is the price of success!
Wonderful work you do...I really don't care what camera you use and doubt most others do either. Some of your older work is my favorite.....that's what is neat about fashion, it is always changing!

Best Regards!

I like this shot a lot. And I don't even like fashion shots, where the models are usually just put on some ridiculously cliche looks - trying to be cold, mean, wierd, anti-social, misfit, mentally disturbed or just retarded, etc.

Very nice!

I like how that lens renders, the bokeh is very smooth. I think it reminds me of FA77 shots.

Ben your style has changed a bit right?
Your image seems a little different than before i'm not quite sure what it is but it seems different.

I know gear has changed but anything else?

Amazing images and shows that it's the photographer that really makes the image

I use the same two lenses you do, and also shoot 1.8 most of the time. I have to say being able to shoot 1.8 wide open without compromise is nice isn't it
