Some snapshots on A7 with various lenses next to K-5 or an antique Kodak Retina

Minolta AF 50mm f/1.7 mounted on LA-EA4

Minolta AF 50mm f/1.7 mounted on LA-EA4

Xenon 50mm f/1.9 in DKL mount

Xenar 45mm f/2.8 pancake in DKL with a DKL to M42 adapter -- very cute and functional lens on Pentax bodies, the 50mm f/1.9 is a much better lens though

Kodak Retina IV with DKL mount

SEL 50mm f/1.8 on A7

For any SEL 50mm f/1.8 owners and I encourage you to give that combo a trial. The Clear Image Zoom feature are meant for quicksnap and it is very functional. I dial in 1.2x zoom and essentially turn my SEL 50mm f/1.8 into a 65mm f/1.8 and shot this as I explained on previous page

Joined a photowalk today, first time for two month. Still, I find the camera to be a bad match for shooting WO from any position different from eye level on straight legs, nothing new here. But I quite like the EVF itself (not the fact it is fixed, of course): its larger magnification (compared to one in old NEXes) is a great help for focus accuracy and thus I have higher ratio of hits than before (although it was already pretty high with 5n's tiltable one), despite peaking works somewhat worse than on NEXes and, the most significant, it is noticeably brighter, so using it on bright sun is not an issue anymore from what I have seen and I can even look it at a distance, while with 5n's I need to push an eye to an eyecup very tight to enclose sun's rays.

#1 is a panorama (some of yours can yawn here, sure ) taken with Cron 90, others are with Lux 35 except the one before the last, #13: it was taken with Lux 50

I am slightly out of focus in this picture, but I really like it:

I think the link below explains the amazing results we have been seeing. The A7r & 35FE2.8 significantly out resolves D800E & Nikon's best prime and a Carl Zeiss planar

Fantastic pictures everyone!

Emacs, I wonder what would happen if you loved the camera ;-)

I think about buing a Sigma 60mm f/2.8 lens but unfortunately there is no Sigma ProCenter in my town and other resellers do not have this lens in stock. I know it's a cheap lens but I would really love to see some samples froma an A7 + Sigma 60/2.8 combo. Has anyone tried it? I've seen the samples Hinman made with Sigma 30mm f/2.8 and they were very encouraging...

BTW: the second part of my non-FF lenses/adapters test is ready: Per analogia: A7 i obiektywy/adaptery nie kryj?ce FF (II) / A7 and non-FF lenses/adapters (II)

I will be buying the Sigma 60mm with the intention to use it for both NEX and A7. The lens is very sharp in center and with a small crop, I will expect it to be quite usable on A7. With unscientific tests, I am quite happy with the SEL 50mm f/1.8 or the Sigma 30mm f/2.8 with CIZ at 1.2x zoom setting. With the Sigma 19 with baffle on, I need about 1.3x in CIZ (clear image zoom). Shooting raw and pp with a crop will be another way to go.

There is a great thread on removing baffle on LA-EA1 and use it for A7

Removing baffle from LA-EA1: Sony Alpha/NEX E-mount Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

With the LA-EA4, I find my pictures under-exposed by at least 0.7Ev, AF is reasonable and I wonder if it is worth trying out a used copy LA-EA1.

Cheers,
Hin

I am not a professional but I'm very grateful to you folks for posting all these shots. I only have a k-x (don't get me wrong - its a great camera and I enjoy it) and long for a FF. I will stick with the kx until I can afford the FF. Until then I am enjoying seeing what you guys are up to. Thank you.

I know that this is an image thread, but I thought that I would highlight that PC Magazine has measured the resolution of the A7r with the Otus (via Metabones adapter) and also the FE 55 F1.8 They are pretty close! Seems like few camera lens combos come close to the A7r and FE lenses. It's nice to finally sit on the bleeding edge of technology, without starving to pay for it.

Thank you very much, Hin!
I decided to go for the Sigma 60mm and try to use it with the baffle removed. Also I will try to find an used Sigma 30mm and perhaps replace my SEL35F18 with it - i tried removing the baffle from the Sony lens but the effect is barely noticeable...
I also thought of removing the baffle from my LA-EA2 adapter but I'm afraid to do so, as the translucent mirror is to close to it, if not connected, so I will pass.
