Suddenly the A7 looks very interesting.

Ok here is what i've found from Pentax on the A7;
The FA 31 working well is no surprise, but the DA 70 result is surprising - no vignetting.

ha good point. Did even realize its a DA.

Sidenote, I wonder how the Sigma 30mm 1.4 would fare. I know they had softer edges in 1.5 crop but I loved their rendering.

Yup, I also stumble upon his thread and even asked him in Flickr regarding it.

Never knew the DA70 would work well on Full Frame.

Sammy, hurry up I'm on the edge of my seat here!

I want to do exactly what you have done there with a 31, a 77 and a K 50/f1.2, et.al.
I've only shot some in the shop. I hope Christine doesn't mine me polluting the thread with some test photos, but here are the FA77 shots.

The amazing cropability of 36MP at 100%

Sammy!

Nice one!

Any issues with manual focus, lack of optical stabilisation, vignetting, smearing (doesn't look like it)?

Also, I'm thinking adpaters here, Novoflex?

I'm sorry to be a pest, but this is making my day!

There's a crop format mode I think, so it may not be addressing the full frame.

I'm using a Kipon adapter. Seems to be fine, but goes over infinity focus. However, no issues as I'm used to that already from using it with my NEX. Manual focus works well on magnified view with focus peaking on low. There is a button next to the shutter release, which turns on the magnified view. It's a cinch to get sharp shots as I kept the shutter at 1/125th second, which is no issue with the lack of noise from a full frame sensor. Hence no need for stabilisation. No viginetting or smearing on the FA77. I also got the EA4 and am looking forward to trying it with my A-mount Sigma 150mm lens, which has lens stabilisation.

From a previous post, the following lenses are said to be full frame usable without vignetting.

- DA 70mm f/2.4 Limited
- DA 40mm f/2.8 Limited
- DA*200mm f/2.8
- DA*300mm f/4.0
- DA 35mm f/2.8 Macro

Thanks Sammy. Keep shootin'.

Which others lenses do you have to go on the A7r? I'm planning on the 31mm Limited, 77mm Limited, K 50/f1.2, M 50 f1.7, 100 WR Macro, CZJ DDR Electric 50mm and the CZJ DDR 135/f3.5 for now.

There's always been confusion over which PK DA lenses are full frame compatible to my mind. This thing should clear all that up.

I dont think you can get a DA to E mount adapter , as the is no aperture ring you cant adjust the aperture

Here is a couple of shots with an manual focus lens and crops of the same photo 300mm lens

Christine is using range finder lenses . from what i have seen they color shift and shade the corners even on the Nex 7 so it is understandably going to be worse on a FF camera , you should not have any problems with SLR lenses unless its really wide and you put filters on it . so far i am pleased with the results , handles different to a DSLR and is not that much smaller than the K5 and is defiantly better controls than the Nex 5n i gave to my wife .

Dragon,

The Novoflex PK > NEX adapter has an aperture ring so you can use all the new lenses too . . .

Novoflex are supposed to be tops! But cost more.

You can get a Novoflex M42 to NEX adapter. I'll need one of these as well as the PK.

Also look at DEO-Tech, Techart Eagle II. It's an AF adapter for Contax G (!!!) lenses for the Alpha 7.

DEO-Tech

You can get Canon and Nikon and Minolta too. So you can use the Minolta f/1.2, would be good.

Here is my A7r with the DA40. I can confirm that it works without vignetting. I'm amazed at how shallow the DOF is compared with when I used it on the K5.
