Thanks for all your photos pinholecam - I really enjoy them, makes me miss Singapore. We were supposed to travel to Penang in April but I have cancelled our plans because of the AirAsia incident - I want to avoid travelling to South East Asia for the next few months.

I have been shooting a lot on my Nikon 1, so my Sony isn't getting a lot of love. But here's a photo I took recently of the graffiti wall at Sydney University:

Yeah.. pretty scary for so many incidents to happen in a span of 6 months.

Scary, but actually not surprising - a few aviation experts have been predicting this for some time.

Huge exponential growth in air travel in the region in last few months

Shortage of pilots and inadequate training

antiquated air traffic control and poor operating procedures (highlighted in recent crashes)

Reports of pilots taking ice due to under staffing and long hours

Budget airlines with low operating margins and unwillingness to cancel flights during poor weather

Cross posted from the Full Frame thread:

Some from today and this evening:

All with Sony A7R

Sony 70 - 200 f/4G - while trying the lens out - f/8 70mm 1/200 ISO 1600

16 - 35 f/4

This one breaks the rules on composition perhaps, but rightly or wrongly, I quite like it. I notice that like the 645Z have to be careful with how highlights are dealt with as banding appears slightly in the jpg (absent from the tif file)

16 - 35 at 35. I wanted to get the day old moon into the shot without it looking as small as a star...

Thanks for the photos. I don't get to see the thread you referred to, because the original poster is in my Ignore List.

I have been contemplating buying the 70-200 but I think it's too big. May buy the 90mm macro.

Am in Venice for a few days and was hoping for a good few days shooting. I am full of cold and the weather is appalling. Poured down all day and doesn't look ti be improving util the day I depart.

Here are a few photos I took today - took more, but still to process them, and don't have the energy right now

A7R 24 - 70 f/4
