Sammy,

Great stuff!

Any commentary on handling and issues so far?

How do you find it performs with the FA Limiteds?

I can get the A7r from Big Camera here in Thailand for 70k Baht, about £300 cheaper than the UK. I just can't find the adapters here. It's fairly easy to find rice in Thailand though, they have mountains of it. But rice isn't much use when adapting PK lenses to a Sony Alpha body. I've found with other cameras this doesn't work.

The Pentax FA77 around Orchard Road at night. The A7r is great at night as it turns night to day. These were taken with focus peaking. Light levels were low enough that most SLRs would struggle to focus. Might have been easier if I were using my Panasonic GX7, which can focus down to -4 EV, but the shots would have been grainy.
Fantastic photos.

Can you take some of the Gardens By The Bay at night? :-)

Some test shots (sorry...) from the A7 with SEL-20F28. Dark borders aren't very big but the image quality just before the vignette starts isn't perfect to put it mildly... Still I think it's possible to get more than in the crop mode.

i really want to get an a7r to put the old pentax glass on, but there isn't one single shot in this thread that's good enough to sell me on doing it.

some of the 1024px edited photos are nice, but at that tiny web resolution, they could have been taken with my k10d... i found myself asking for a 100% crop.

the few big unedited night shots are in another league sensitivity wise, which is very impressive, but most are out of focus... no ibis looks to be very unforgiving.

i know that the a7(r) can deliver razor-sharp images, i've seen a few of 'em at full size, but none of it was shot with pentax or m42 glass.

i think that this thread illustrates how difficult and challenging this path really is... some of those shots that were taken with wide-angle glass were discouraging, to say the least, but definitely very helpful.

thanks to everyone who has posted these pics.

Some random shots around Orchard Road with 35mm FE. I like this lens, which is incredibly light and compact for a full frame lens. Feels almost like a toy lens compared to the 35mm F2 Biogon However, It is as sharp as the Biogon, has Zeiss rendering and fast AF.

Nice rendering in these shots , I may have to put it on my list as an AF option, I looking forward to a trip to the city to give mine a workout , Cheers Frank

Thanks Christine but I don't own A7... yet. These were just test shots in the Sony store.
But hopefully I will get one before Christmas.
