Re focusing in dim light. Tip: turn off the AF assist light - the camera focuses much faster and more accurately.

An example in the "night" section of the Wild Life zoo - this is at ISO6400:

Christine, please report back if you find any IQ improvements for the new NEX-6 firmware upgrade. If there's not, I'll probably not upgrade since I don't have any E-mount lenses.

The release notes don't mention anything about image quality, only Hybrid AF support for the FE lenses. Probably won't hurt to upgrade though.

Speaking of FE lenses, here's one captured on the FE55 that I quite like:

ISO5000, captured using continuous AF in dim light. Now granted, the subject is not fast moving, but it is surprisingly zippy in close quarters:

I always find those images, taken with a non-Pentax camera adapted for Pentax lenses, quite stunning for the most part.
This may have to do with the "FF" sensor of the A7/A7r but I also wonder if one could remotely attain something similar with another Sony, but not "FF", i.e.: NEX series for instance.

Nonetheless, great images being shown in this thread!

Thanks - you should take a look at the NEX Pictures thread - lots of fantastic photos taken on Pentax glass.

I bought a NEX-5N in 2011 and initially mainly used it with Pentax glass since there wasn't a lot of Sony lenses back then. This is one of the first photos I took with the NEX-5N and Pentax lens (I think it's A50 but could be A100):

A great image again you have here and I am amazed how good this came out with the XEX-5N.
I can only speculate that it would be as good or better with more recent models (I am "planning")?

I haven't noticed anything ground breaking with the new firmware. Startup time is probably more reliable and constant.

Great shots all.

- Love the wide angle shot of the city scape pinholecam.
- I thought that turtle was in the air on my phone too Christine

Sometimes mistakes turn out okay. This one was horribly overexposed because I had the camera at the wrong setting, but I ended up liking it:

The correctly exposed version doesn't seem to be as striking:

Fabulous landscape camerons , what lens did you use ?

The big cat looks very dramatic in mono Christine , made a similar mistake today on
a not so big cat lol

This is Sidney , i guess he has about three families throughout the neighborhood , that
hes adopted , he belonged to a old lady who sadly died a few years ago
