Wow, great shots with the Pentax glass.

BTW one image caught my eye in your Flickr gallery and was wondering what lens and settings for the following shot :

Wow, great sharpness with that old lens. I will have to try my legacy Pentax lenses on my 36mp A7r.

The A50 f1.4 seems better than my A50 f1.7, and also better than the FA50 f1.4.

Really nice rendition and bokeh.

Want to try my SMC Takumar 50 1.4 or K50 1.2 next time we meet up?

Fabulous photos by you all!

great work with the A50/1.4

Looking at old lenses yesterday and there was nothing special to buy ,
but a copy of a old SMC Pentax-A 70-210mm F4 caught my eye

so i tried it out in the garden when i got home and i don't think its too bad for a zoom

Would really like to try those thanks! Hope you get well soon and we should go somewhere and shoot. Maybe the Blue Mountains Winter Festival?

Maybe copy variations.
I know this copy of the A50/1.4 is good, but my A50/1.7 is as good (as the 1.4 at f1.7 of course) .
The 50/1.7 has better sharpness at wide open off the centre of the frame too, which is its design characteristic.
My FA50/1.4 is close to the A50/1.4 IF the AF is right, but I've never done a 1 to 1 comparison (just by gauging the photos I take at 1:1 now and then)

I wouldn't judge the quality of any lens based on pinholecam's photos. He makes everything look incredible.

I got up a 4:30 today to take a ride around downtown Tempe and ASU, a school I never went to. I didn't move to Arizona until I was finished with college. This early in the morning, on a Saturday, it was entirely empty.

I was using the Sigma Super Wide II. On APS-C, it was a cheap normal-ish lens that I never really warmed to. On this camera, it actually lives up to its name. I like it much better now. It's reasonably fast and very small for a 24mm SLR lens.

Interesting. I've always felt my A50 was a bit soft wide open, and the FA50 had a rather busy bokeh which I didn't like. Maybe I need to take my A50 out and give it another chance.

Speaking of bokeh, this is one of the last surviving milestones, found at University of Sydney:
