Sony 70 - 200 f/4G - while trying the lens out
So far everyone I talk to really likes this lens. What were your thoughts about it?

Excellent photos. Curious.........Sony/Zeiss 24-70 FE?

Thanks.
Yes. It doesn't have the best reputation but my copy seems ok. In my experience the 24-70 of many brands tends to be not the strongest- except canon's mk2. I did consider the mk2 with metabones but trying to keep things compact and if the images coming out of it are good enough then there is no need to change. I think this zoom range is a key one.

Thanks for the info, itshimitis. I really want to buy it for my A7M2, but have been scared off by so many reports of soft corners. Hopefully they have tweaked the latest production runs.

Same thing here... everyone I talked to seems to love that lens. And that makes it a very tempting buy; but the price kind of keeps me away... personally I find it a little bit maybe too expensive for an F4...

From early shots it's sharp, not too heavy not used it much yet. Still raining here in Venice so don't want to change lenses in the rain

Nice colour rendition on all the photos! I like the heightened contrast from shooting in the rain

In conditions like these some might be tempted to convert to bw but aside from a desaturated look in a previous post, it has to be colour.

Thanks for the Bangkok pictures. We are going in May and I am looking forward to it.

I won't bring my a7r though - too heavy. Will bring my Nikon V2 plus a few lenses.

Nice

Did you consider colour correcting the blue atmospheric haze?

More from the Thailand motor show.

FE55 proved to be very useful here as I was able to use AF and hold a flash off camera.
