This particular sign, however, means quite a bit to me. I drove past it each day for a few months from Talgarth/Three Cocks on the Black Mountains side to near Abergavenny/Blaenavon for work. Lovely country, as is the Welsh coastline.
I'm also in the same boat as you, flying weekly (my little GM1 or Ricoh GR usually comes along). If you don't mind, what goes with you along with the A7RII when you travel?
What I take with me depends where I am going, and how long for. If I know I'm going to have a good opportunity for photography, I take both my main cameras with me - 645Z and A7RII. I'm off to Denmark for a couple of weeks and Norway right at the end, and there are some short hops to do in small planes so I may only take my Sony with me for that trip, and will certainly keep camera gear to a minimum for a trip to El Salvador in early December. I haven't used my Pentax much on a trip around the UK, mainly because the Sony enables me to be more mobile. But I have the 645Z + DA 25, 33 - 55, 45 - 85 75 f/2.8 80 - 160 with me plus the A7RII with A 50, Minolya 85 1.4 Tamron 24 - 70 FE 16 - 35 FE 70 - 200 and Loxia 35 with me.

Is there are better time of the year to go to the UK (say to the Lake District)?
Just asking so that I can keep it in mind when the opportunity arises.
Autumn and Spring are generally very good times. Misty mornings and sunrise times that aren't
too early. The weather tends to be more settles too in Sep/Oct and April/May. Jul and August can be warmer, but often also wetter. I was in the same location as yesterday at the end of July, and in July it was like it should have been like yesterday - windy and 12 degrees. Instead yesterday once the fog lifted, it was 19 degrees C and calm and sunny...
