Hy fellows, are you sure your resizing operations / softwares for Pentax highest resolutions sensors files, DON'T affect these results ?

I don't know how I'd do it differently, usually I'm looking at these images on a monitor with about 2560x 1440 pixels, and these images adequately represent what I see on my screen, in whatever way I choose to look at them. The K-5, K-3 images are what I expected, only where the DP2 images stacked up was the question.

Now if you want to know what they all look like reduced to 1024 as If I were posting them on the forum, that would be a different test. I've found in the past that the DP2 is so sharp it can produce artifacts when reduced in size, but that's a different question.

Thanks for the effort of putting the comparisons up.

I was quite sure that the DPxm was sharper, but did not know if it would be at a point where the 24mp K3 was close enough to not matter.

Then, the headache for me would be to sell my dp1m.

The DP2 is so small in my camera bag, I've been contemplating a DP1M as well. More range… the other possibility would be an SD1M and have my sigma 8-16 converted, then get a an 18-35 for landscape and 70-200. The sharpness is alluring… but the limitations mean it will always be a niche camera. Almost all my wildlife images are shot at 800 ISO. Having a DSLR that can't be used for those images just doesn't make sense. And even a K-5 does remarkably well for landscape.

That's kind of like a nail in the coffin.

Sorry about that Probably the new Sigma lenses are specially designed for that feature.

I was thinking to get Sigma 35/1.4, but this thread renewed my taste to buy DP2 Merrill instead. Maybe I should put my old K30/2.8 on K5 for a couple of weeks to see how useful that focal lenght could be.....
