Here are a few quick photos of the a7+novo+FA 77mm combo, next to the K-5+FA 31mm.

Also, my 43mm has the DA 40mm hood on it, so the listed weight above will vary slightly from one with the native lens hood.
Are you using 43mm with DA 40mm hood on a A7? Doesn't it cause any vignetting problems? If not, it would be a nice modification!!

A7 A7r with K and M42 lenses Post Images here

Great question. I've used my 43mm with the 40mm hood on my A7 before and never really paid attention to whether or not there's vignetting - probably only because it hasn't been an issue with the type of photos I've taken with it.

In any case, I went back to check just now - there is vignetting with the 40mm hood. In fact, there's vignetting on the A7+novoflex adapter with the 43mm without any hood when wide open. The vignetting is gone by f4.

I had my 77mm nearby so checked that one, too. There's vignetting wide open on the 77mm as well. Again, gone by F4.

The Video looked pretty Sturdy from here. I assume you used a metabone adaptor for the Nikkor lens?

Thanks!! Yeah! I've realized 43 has a tiny vignetting when shooting the blue sky. Is 40mm hood adding more vignetting or it's about the same with the original hood? I am keep dropping the lens cap due to there is no way to find a cap for 43mm + original HOOD.. I like the way 21mm with a thin hood that protects 21mm from scratch. That's why I am very interested to use 40mm hood on both 43, and 21.. Thank you for the info!

I've never tried the 43mm with original hood on the a7, so I can't say. (My original hood for the 43mm is packed away in a box somewhere, so I can't easily check it)

As for the 43mm original HOOD cap - I used to use a pinch style lens cap on it instead of the metal hood. (I think it was 52mm)

Hi guys,

Anyone used a lens turbo adapter with DA lenses on a A7r before? the Sony FF is so tempting... down side is that it has no aperture control... booohooo

Yes I have tried it and the turbo vignettes with a black outline. Just use the DA on it with a cheap nex-pk adapter with aperture control the camera can go into aps-c mode if you need it to.
I really don't see the point of using turbo on this camera.
Just buy a cheap adapter for each mount you want to shoot with. I have an m42,m42tilt,om system,Nikon,Canon fd adapters all together for less than $100.

sorry for my ignorance, what turbo-booster are you talking about? isn't this a FF lens on a FF camera ?

yeah It was used for my Nex 5n. Just experimenting on my A7 It is turning the 28mm approximately into a 18mm lens but since the sides are kind of distorted I think it makes for a good way to do square image or even a panoramic photo.
