AF technical question

So im kinda stuck between the nikon d7000 and the canon 7D. As wanting to really get into shooting moving subjects is important to me, ive been particularly interested in the af sysytems on respective cameras. Nikon and canon take a very different approach. I mean, the nikon has 39 af points with around 1/4 of them being cross type. The D7 on the other hand has less af points but almost all of them are cross type. Are there any specific advantages/distadvantages of either approach? If anyone could shed a little light on this, that would be awesome.
