New Samsung (aka "Dear Pentax: Please SAVE OUR NOSES!!!")

Now HERE'S a viewfinder that makes sense:

Just copy Samsung for once!

Cheers,

that, means no OVF.

Chance that Pentax jump into EVF is very unlikely.

I wouldn't say no if the optical viewfinder's eyepiece would extend a bit more (similarly with when the O-ME53 magnifier is attached); of course, keeping a comfortable viewing experience for eyeglass wearers.
But what's Samsung doing, I'm afraid is not feasible with an optical viewfinder.

Ahem...I saw this and thought it was fixed that way:

I redact my snarky response

Perhaps I'm in the minority (?), but I have never really had an issue with my nose because it's off the camera's left edge (when viewed from behind). Similar to below, but my nose actually extends past the edge, not in line with it (yes I use my right eye).

I would have preferred a rangefinder design like on Panasonic GX7. Then you don't need not telescopic EVF to avoid touching the screen with your nose (at least not for right eye users). IMO mirrorless cameras are also more of a modern replacement of rangefinder cameras. (best optimized for wide angle lenses, where DSLR design have disadvantages).

Cool stuff, the new Weather Sealed 16-50mm F2-2.8 S ED OIS lens looks very interesting too. But do they have a Weather sealed Camera for it?

Samsung is moving on nicely it would seem.

The really funny thing to me is, it's a very petite camera, but the lens is still a big honking lens.

Did you expect a 16-50mm F2-2.8 to be small?

No, I expected them to photograph it with a 40XS. Who makes a skinny little camera and them makes Big lenses for it? Someone who doesn't understand their niche, that's who.

They announced a collapsible 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 motorized zoom too, for those who need more compact options.

Samsung lens optoins for their own mount aint all that bad atm.
