Hasselblad H5D-50c: 50Mpix CMOS sensor from Sony -soon in Pentax 645D II?

Hasselblad just announced their H5D-50c which will be the first medium format camera to include a CMOS sensor instead of a CCD sensor:

Hasselblad to launch CMOS sensor-based medium format camera

This CMOS sensor has 50 million pixels and comes from Sony.

Could it be that Ricoh will use the same sensor for the successor to Pentax 645D?

But is this really a big upgrade? 50MP vs 40MP? And lots of people prefer CCD over CMOS - except that CMOS allows live view and video, but these two things are usually not very important in medium format cameras, anyway (although, video with medium format sensor/lenses might be interesting). Is the new CMOS sensor any bigger than the old CCD?

No more details yet, only a press release:

Hasselblad Press Lounge

"Further information (...) will be announced in March."

The main problem for Hasselblad / Leica / Pentax is that Truesense Imaging haven't developed any new medium format sensor since the acquisition of Kodak's Image Sensor Solutions by Platinum Equity in November 2011. So Sony's involvement in medium format sensors is a very good piece of news.

It might be the sensor technology as in the 36MP FF (or 16MP APS-C) sensor from Sony in the same size as the CCD sensor in Hasselblad H5D-50 (49.1 x 36.7 mm).

We have too many CMOS cameras today.
I would still like the CCD version of 645D to be available.

Actually, it rather looks like a "bigger version" of the 24 Mpix sensor in Sony Alpha 7.

Indeed, 6,208 x 8,280 pixels with the same pixel pitch as the sensor in Alpha 7 lead to a 37.1 x 49.4 mm sensor, close in size to the sensor in Hasselblad H5D-50 (36.7 x 49.1 mm, as you wrote).

As usual with Pentax, the white balance in artificial light is awful
