Looks like they copied the idea behind the Nikon Df, fixed up their hardware interface quirks (good), made it smaller and lighter with APS-C (good), but forgot about the OVF. That's a complete turn-off for me personally because this things looks like it deserves to be a DSLR.

Nice looking camera - the 'pentaprism' reminds me of the old 35mm Rolleiflexs

We'll see where pricing goes after launch, but at $1300 body-only, at 16MP and without IBIS, I'd be hard-pressed to pick this over a K-3, even with the significant weight advantage, the good looks, the tilting viewscreen and the enticing glass. Well, maybe I'd be slightly tempted... But the 18-135 will only materialize in the summer and the F/2.8 zooms won't come until the end of the year. No 1:1 macro yet, either, which is a must for me. A 50mm 1:1 Zeiss is coming, but that's a bit short... My hope is that by the end of this calendar year, Pentax will have introduced something that will induce greater lust in me than this thing does...

IBIS is a good thing but 1/40th handhold shots are pretty easy with 16MP. And if you take pictures of people, you are going to want 1/60+ shutter speed anyway. Their zooms have image stabilization. The 18-55mm does a pretty good job at it too.

And as to answer its supporters question for one, Pentax was stating along the lines of not doing so because it will compromise WR capabilities.
BAM!
Another company just called their bluff..

I will have to see how the EVF looks. I've played around with the XE-2 and the EVF is still not fast enough.

I really everything I'm reading about it and the 56mm F/1.2 is exactly what I am wanting from Pentax.

Seeing the camera-size comparison, that Fuji is way to big for an APS-C camera.

But it's smaller than an Olympus OMD EM-1 which is a micro four-thirds camera.

In my opinion, the Sony A7 is TOO small for a full frame. It's nice to fit that sensor in such a small body but once you put full frame lenses on there it becomes very unbalanced and awkward to hold.

Agreed. I was kind of jazzed for this body till I compared the specs to the price. I was bummed when I saw 1/4000 max shutter speed, lack of ISO 100 for RAW, as well as lack of IBIS and no manual control in video mode. The K-3 is just a better value especially considering that it will most likely be under $1000 by the time I'm ready to drop the cash. It will be interesting to see if Ricoh/Pentax announces that rumored smaller retro body soon.
