I went for a stroll this afternoon through Cocken Wood and along the River Wear, a favourite short walk of mine. On the way back, I took this shot of the reflections in the river, and the foot bridge that leads to historic Finchale Priory.

As usual, taken with the Canon A1200 using CHDK, and processed in RawTherapee

Not to long ago I bought this 4mp Minolta camera for $3 at a local Thrift store.
Manufactured in 2002.
I know that most cell phone can take higher res pics but this camera has very unique look with its CCD sensor. Almost film like.
Wanted to sell it, but I think I'll keep it as it's a really fun camera to play with.

Few pics from it (cropped).

Those old digicams are cheap entertainment Pretty good looking images too!

Great stuff. I'm the same: it seems to be physically impossible for me to not buy any cheap old compact that I spot in a thrift store for under 10. A lot of them are awful, but it's pure joy when a good one turns up, and I'll definitely keep my eyes open for one of those Minoltas.

Okay, so I can see from the angle of the photo that the aim is to piddle through the hole, but doesn't it just end up all over the floor?

It's all about careful aim, precision, bladder control....and making sure you play the game outdoors (which I obviously did not).

Great stuff. That Olympus TG-5 looks like exactly the sort of camera I've been looking for recently: a fully waterproof compact that I could carry in a pocket and keep using no matter what the Dartmoor winter throws at me. The TG-5 itself is really a bit above my current price range though, so I'd be grateful if anyone here could recommend a fully waterproof zoom compact that goes for used prices under 100 -- with a CCD sensor if possible. My best solution so far has been to make my ancient Fuji E900 reasonably weather resistant by sealing it in a plastic bag, but we really do get the sort of weather around here in winter when fully waterproof would be better.
