I gave away the little Nikon as it has no exposure information in the optical viewfinder. Dunno what made me think it did.
I guess I'll have to save up my pennies for a better toy - a Fuji X20, or maybe even another try at an X100...

X10 is a great kit.

Agree 100% ! I prefer it over my X20 but the X20 does have info in the viewfinder. It is handy but I seldom use the info.

Regards!

Not sure about the x20, but my x10 VF is just a big window with no info. Still useful though.

You generally know your settings anyhow, so seeing them in the viewfinder is not that important. The fact that you can see clearly in any bright light is a wonderful treat for a Toy Camera. The X10 has the wonderful EXR setting, and if you can master it, you can be amazed with the results in any light. It is a fantastic little camera, one of the best ever.

I need to get out there and shoot some more of my raccoons. they come every night for a good meal and are plenty willing to pose for the X10. Some are so fat they can barely walk...life is good for animals around here!

This is something I need to check out - I'm in Av mode 95% of the time on my X10. Looks like a well-fed and happy 'coon
A few recent ones (some crossposted)

EXR is neat. I like the output from the dynamic range mode - had I been able to adjust the shutter speed while using it, I probably would have kept my HS50 EXR.

Here's a pic from the Canon SX50 I had a few years ago. Excellent sensor and glass, horrible (for me) ergonomics.

Check out the EXR it can work wonders! .....and in the small sensor of the X10, AV doesn't make a lot of difference...do some testing and you will see.

In that last shot, Otis saw a Cottonmouth just below the surface about to grab your poor little doggie....be more careful!

But you shot some wonderful stuff with that camera. I will never forget your swan shots, or the frog, Marvellous! This little fellow is ever so cute too, I don't think I have seen him before!

Thanks. One doesn't always get "toy" results from "toy" cameras. He's not so fat, just fluffed up because of the cold. IIRC, it was below freezing.

Thanks, Sue! We'll never forget the fabulous Smedley the Frog. He had a crush on my sweetie, I think. She told Smedley a story of a frog who was kissed by a princess, but he didn't turn into a human prince because he was already such a handsome frog! We still refer to the place where we met him as "Smedley's Spot".

looking to purchase an x10

Crossposting from the general off-Pentax forum, just in case some of you guys only frequent this thread!

I'm looking to purchase an x10 for a friend as a baby-shower gift. Anyone interested in selling? I'd rather give my $ to the forum peeps than ebay or Amazon!

Thx for any interest!
