Sorry to hear. Awhile back I had a new Panasonic Lumix something-or-other that died after about 6 months. Yet some of them can go on for years. My old HP C20 one-megapixel cam from 1999 still works to this day! Just for grins, I picked up another old Powershot, an A560 7.1 mpx from 2007. It's a regular-sized model, not as tiny as my ELPHs. Should have it in a week or so.
Yeah I think its just the batteries. The original died in 2013 so I bought two replacements, but allowed them to go completely flat which is a nono for those old ones. I just cant be bothered buying more, just for the sake of an occasional shot and more dead batteries down the track.

This is one of the last I took with it, it started out as a TIFF which the old Oly coped with quite nicely.

A couple more "microscope" shots with the TG-4, both with the ring light appendage attached..

This is the underside of a leaf. I think we can actually see the stomata.

And the underside of a petal.

Phone cam snap from one of the hides in Kalahari/Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park - I suspect it was built more than a couple of years ago
