Hi jcdoss and Tessar,

Thank you so much for your input. I have updated compatibility list at first post of the thread.

Cheers!

Haven't had time to really shoot with mine since I've got it but I have the EF-Nex LT II and so far the 8-Element Tak 50/1.4 (w/ M42-EF) hits the lens turbo element at about 1-2m. Blue spot seems to be mostly gone from the LT gen 1

Problem with the EF-Nex is that my PK-EF and M42-EF adapters fit rather loosely on my EF-Nex Turbo II. I'm thinking I shoulda just ordered a native PK Lens Turbo II instead.

So you have been using an additional lens adapter on top of the Lens Turbo, and then you mount a lens on top of those two? The scope for optical misalignment, light leaks etc seems pretty high. I'd go for just the native LTII.

Hey chaosteo!
Do you have some more Ricoh 55mm F/1.2 on LT II examples? I have to plan my upgrade path and have a Revue Revuenon 55mm f1.2 which I think is an identical lens to your Ricoh (7 elements, 6 groups), and I'm entertaining the choice between a K-01 (advantage sensor stabilization) or a Sony NEX 3/6 + Lens Turbo II (advantage, FF perspective).
Secondly, since you've had four more months to try out your adaptor, what is your latest opinion on it?

Jasvox, those are some really great photos!! What is your opinion on shooting at fast apertures on the LT II?

Also, has anyone tried out a M42 lens on a LT II PK via m42 to PK adaptor? I have the Takumar 55mm f1.8 and Takumar 50mm f1.4 which I would also like to use on the PK Lens Turbo II if I do go this upgrade path...

I think I'm about done with the Lens Turbo series. Version 1 had the blue dot, which was horrendous when it showed up. Version 2 has apparently moved the lens elements closer to the distal lens mount, so now wide lenses won't focus to infinity without bumping glass. Shimming worked (I had to add another two layers since my last post to completely fix the problem I had with the M20/4), however now I lose infinity focus with other lenses (M50/1.4). There's just too much hassle with the whole setup, so I think I'll be interested in selling. I've still got both versions, so anyone interested, please PM me with an offer.

I think my ultimate solution for full frame will be to get an A7R. Or a Pentax, should one ever show up and bear the right features, but that's another issue.

Meh, that is very sorry to hear that it's not a winning combo.
Full frame Pentax (which will have to be more expensive than Mirrorless FF is for the foreseeable time out of my budget ($500). Thus I guess I'll have to make peace with apsc and settle with a K50, or I could go for a old Cannon 5D classic with a shaved mirror and matte focussing screen... 12MP is more than most would ever need.

If only Metabones would attempt a PK speed booster...

Revuenon and Porst 55 F1.2 tested on the LT II. Both work, infinity hit around 10m. If you focus past it, the rear element hits the glass inside the LT II...

The lens turbo version II, is much improved on the original. I have yet to notice any aberrations or sharpness issues as tested with the SMC Pentax-M 50mm f1.4 and SMC Pentax-M 35mm f2.

Tessar, try the double-layer of electrical tape shim method and see if that fixes the problem you're having with your M28.

I have both the K & M versikns of the Pentax SMC 28mm f3.5. I intend to use them with the Lens Turbo II focal reducer on a Sony A6000 (E mount). You wrote that shimming the adapter to avoid the rear lens element to bump the lens adapter could be a solution. How did you do it? Did you test the Pentax K 28mm 3.5 too? Thanks

Sorry for the delay.

I removed the rear lens mount on the adapter (three little screws) and put several layers of electrical tape below where the adapter fits, then re-mounted the lens mount. You can't add too many layers since the screws are really short. It didn't work with the M20 (one of my favorite lenses) and that's why I gave up. I don't have a K28, so can't speak for that lens.

I am still using my NEX F3 + Lens Turbo II and think that I can add a few lens to compatible / incompatible list.

Working:
K28/3.5 shift - very useful!
FA28-70/4 - it is a nice light setup
FA28-105/4-5.6 Powerzoom
A50/1.2
A24-50/4

Problematic:
K28/3.5 - cannot focus to infinity due to rear lens hitting the front element of LT II.
Sigma 24/2.8 Superwide II - this one is strange as it seems that the locking pin of the LT cannot fit into the corresponding recess of the lens.

For all the lenses that work, the center resolution is always very good - sharp and detailed. I cannot comment on the quality of the corners. I can only say that they are all acceptable. I do not think that any of them show very bad corners compared to the typical corners that I see on my APS-C bodies.

I'm aware this is an old thread, but couldn't find any other posts documenting Pentax lens compatibility with the Lens Turbo II.

I got mine today, as part of my hopes to get full-frame-like wide-angle using old lenses, but alas, all 28mm lenses I tried seemed to make contact with the rear element...
Well, at least my fisheye worked, which is nice.

Update: I originally labeled the Auto Chinon MC 28mm as "not working", but I have since modified it in a reversible way to make it work with the LT2. I'll start a new thread about how to do that.

Lenses I tested & results:

Working
Pentax K 17mm F/4 fisheye
Pentax K 55mm F/1.8
Pentax-M 135mm F/3.5
Pentax-A 50mm F/1.7
Auto Chinon Zoom MC 35-200mm F/4-5.6

Basically any lens where the rear element does not protrude from the mount should work fine.

Not Working fully (not focusing to infinity due to rear-element-collision)
Pentax K 28mm F/3.5
Pentax M 28mm F/3.5

Working after reversible focus modification (modification process is explained here)
Auto Chinon MC 28mm F/2.8

I'm not ready to void my warranty yet & try the shimming method. First impression of this adapter is that it's flimsy enough as it is...
