We have small oak trees sprouting here too but it's not squirrels burying the acorns, they sprout from roots to close to the surface. They're all over our yard.

I was walking around the yard this evening looking for anything to have for our SIC with the Sears/Samyang 135mm f2.8 attached to my black K-30 and this little guy was running along the top of our fence. In his running, he stopped and stared at me. I got one shot before he ran on down the fence.

I read somewhere that birds and squirrels can't digest raw or unroasted peanuts. And I buy the roasted unsalted kind and they gobble them up here too. As I said, we don't have a local feed store here I think the closest is more than 50 miles from here. So I buy them at the grocery in 2lb bags for $2.99 per bag. I've had jays come to get them even as I'm tossing them in the yard. But never show up if I've got camera in hand. LOL
just for you then

a pretty old shot but you will see even his crop if full to overflowing

These Oaks definitely come from acorns, when I dig them or pull them up the acorn is there. No Oak trees in sight around my garden so I think the acorns are carried there and there is clear evidence that they were planted by something.

No problem! In this thread any camera is just fine. We want squirrels here...no matter the camera or lens! Keep them coming!

Ahhh yeah! That is a recent graduate from the Otis School of Disguise and Espionage. Eat up the garden and blame it on the rabbits!

Just another day in paradise! ...if you're a squirrel!

@photolady95 - You are right, the birds and squirrels need roasted peanuts. Raw are hard on their digestive system and can cause diarrhea.....you don't want squirrels in your yard with diarrhea!

Roasted good! Raw bad!

Regards!

That's a fact because I walk across my yard barefoot. And I sure don't want to be stepping in any squirrel poop.

All of the pictures I've posted here are now inaccessible thanks to Photobucket's ridiculous link blocking. I've posted them to a flickr album instead - Squirrels | Flickr

Any future pics will be hosted there, not on blasted Photobucket.

What they did was really bad and so unfair. You can't trust anyone or anyplace nowadays. (Otis Squirrel says you can trust him with your life......just thinking about that scares the crapola out of me!)

Flickr is alright and free. Not a bad hosting site at all, you will like it.

Don't forget, you can become a Pentaxian Site Supporter here and have access to posting on your own galleries etc.Cheap and well worth it! Safe and secure!

Regards!
