I posted this to another thread, thought it could go here too.

A sign from Rupert?
I'm sitting on the deck this evening when I spot a tiny spider building a web attached to the umbrella.
Anchor points already set out, so it's going in and out from the center point, then round and round to fill it in.
This gets me to thinking about Rupert and his pet office spider.
At this time I saw movement out of the corner of my eye, looked up and it's a squirrel peeking over the edge of our gutter.
He/she did this 3 or 4 times, I tried to get a shot with my cell phone, but couldn't.
Stepped out and got this one though.
Believe what you want, I take it as a sign from our friend.

The squirrels at our local park are very spoiled and are quite vocal about their treats :P

A couple more from Kensington Gardens, where I was testing a nice little Nikkor on Tuesday afternoon

18-55mm zoom at 55mm, he was about three or four feet away for these shots.

Every time I shoot squirrels, I remember Rupert. Not like I do it intentionally, it just became that way, Otis tribe forever.

Rupert got us to view squirrels differently - they will always be mischievous, but they are mammals like us, so we should tolerate, even celebrate their mammal-like tendencies. I am having trouble with that right now - I need to be singing that song "My roof has a hole in it and I right drown". I had a roofing guy figure out why every time it rains, the walk-in closet in our master bedroom gets wet. It turns out that some animal has been chewing up there. Until I saw this picture of yours, I didn't even think of squirrels being able to get up there ... I guess I'm going to have to figure out how they do it, then stop it, because we can't go through this on a regular basis. We do have a tall pine tree in the front of the house ... I'm going to have to see if any of the branches touch the roof. I hate to cut it down, but I also don't want to spent $1000 every year because someone wants to use our roof as a chew toy. i'm sure Rupert would have something witty to say about all this, but I don't see it right now.

King squirrel, I've really cut back on the feeding, because it's summer. King Squirrel continue to guard his spot, and rule the yard.

In another year we may move {my wife retires, and we haven't agreed on what to do then}, so I'm not feeding birds or mammals this summer. Anyone who starves in our verdant area is incompetent.

Kind squirrel has been with us since he was a baby four or 5 years ago. If we move I'll have to live trap him and take him with us. His mother is still around too, but I don't see her much in the summer. She must have her nursery somewhere nearby.
