I glanced out the window just now and saw a squirrel gathering fallen fruit - the first one I've seen here since I put the feeders away just after Easter.
I quickly took his picture before he disappeared. In fact, but the time I got my "77-420 PLM" lens {55-300mm lens + 1.4 TC} on he was replaced by a gray critter.

some of you might remember Popcorn and that she was nursing. Well her children are grown and one is not grey and not white and quite big.
Here eating a walnut and her mom, the true albino is eating an acorn.

My wife and I first saw this guy inspecting the ground - apparently looking for fallen apples overlooked by others.
As soon as he was aware of us, he began watching back - mostly from the safety of a tree just to our left of the apple tree.

This old photo shows that squirrels will never give up - they are sure some kind of food must be around, somewhere, no matter how dug up the area already is.

I saw a pic on IG the other day. A squirrel had eaten a hole thru to the seeds, and then ate most of the seeds.
