Taken last year. This little guy later chewed through a fuel injector wire on my wife's car trying to stash walnuts under the intake.

Nice clear shot of an animal that's as welcome in some places as dandelions.

In the UK the greys outcompete the native reds and are widely know as American tree rats!
(They still have a certain cuteness factor though)

Tree Rats! I've got my insanely hot Thai Peppers growing in pots on the patio and the squirrels keep knocking them over.

Be careful - while the fruit is unbareable to them, they can hurt the smaller plant...

They've destroyed my sunfowers and other small plants (along with the bunnies).

This year has not been a good year for the garden between the squirrels and my neighbor deciding to spray roundup along the fence line and hitting the tomato plants with the overspray. We built a garden bench for the herbs and peppers to deter the rabbits, but the squirrels are much harder to keep away.

My only happiness will come if I get some good shots of the white squirrel in action.

Last Spring, while looking around a city park we had never been in before, we saw this guy looking for food under the bird feeder. I must have come within ten feet of him, but I guess he already knew I couldn't go any closer - I was right next to a sign forbidding people to go beyond that point.

I left this dead limb on our apple tree because squirrels find it to be such a convenient way to get to the feeder.

My parents built a garden area at one time, but as the trees grew, it eventually became too shady to grow anything.
Before the trees leaf out - or after they fall - I can see the squirrels making the use of the timbers still there.
