Nice one Norm.

I have not shot any squirrels today due to being too busy.
Last night a thunderstorm came through here and lightening fried my cable modem. Techs couldn't get here until 4 pm today. In the mean time, my niece calls and said her monitor wouldn't come on. So, I hopped in my car, carrying a monitor with me, drove to her house and start doing the tech thing. Found dead monitor and dead harddrive. Fixed both and came home in time for cable tech to show up.

Otis says that is unacceptable Photolady.

Nice shot Norm! All your shots are excellent....you can bet Otis appreciates every one.

Tell Otis they have to come around before I can photograph them. Today, I put out bread twice and some cheese and they still haven't shown up.

Was it "real" cheese? As much as I hate to admit it, squirrels hate Velveeta.

Roasted peanuts never fail!

Regards!

I cannot afford roasted peanuts plus the sunflower seeds plus my birds food. And yes, real cheese, the Velveeta is mine and they can't have that.

Otis has a simple solution....forget the bird feed and just feed the poor little squirrels!

I spend too much on the animals, but they are addicted...and so am I. I'm really glad too that they don't like my Velveeta!

Too dark here for any decent shots today.....With no aperture or EV control it is hard to get a shot at all.

Regards!

Your K-1 will arrive any day now, and then you'll be taking pictures better than what any of us can do,
so we need to get our shots in before you show us how to really do it.

PF folk love cheese - it goes well with their whine.

Oh yeah! I forgot all about that.....soon I'll be a Pro shooter like Norm....better even, because I'll have a K1. My shots will dazzle, and fascinate. Don't worry, I'm not the type to turn my nose up at all you lowly shooters or treat you like step children.

I'll just be the same old Rupert.....most likely with the same old squirrel shots as always!

Regards!

Love the last one Norm. TFS

Okay Otis, here you go. Squirrels were back this morning. I think I have a neighbor feeding them roasted peanuts as to why they weren't here yesterday. Plus a feral cat was hanging around yesterday too.

Shot with a Samyang 135mm f2.8 all manual lens. This one at f7.1.

I only have a K-3 Rupert, not even a K-3II. Does that qualify me as even an advanced amateur?

It will be interesting to see the K-1 images from a familiar shooter, I mean we know you aren't going to improve a whole lot (cause guys like us are old dogs) , so we can compare your APS-c and FF images.

I wouldn't take so many squirrel images if they weren't so convenient. I'm sitting in my blind hoping a new bird will turn up, "duh duh. duh... there's a squirrel, maybe i could take a picture of that one", then you get back tot he computer and it there are a couple of squirrel shots there. But I never go out thinking " I think I'll get some pictures of squirrels today." Don't tell Otis.

Everyone is always saying..." There is a complete lack of fur detail in Rupert's squirrel shots. " Now maybe they'll stop complaining.

Not me though, I never say that.

Some do lack fur detail...

But some have an adequate amount.....

My true expectations are that the K1 will make little difference in my shots. Right now I am shooting with a crippled camera, no AF, no aperture control and no EV control. Certainly the K1 will improve that!

The best I can honestly say about my squirrel shots is that I have a lot of them.....and that is better than what Otis has to say about them!
