Yep...Otis is a big Lake/Palmer fan too! Your squirrel looks mesmerized by the music!

I interrupted his snacking at the bird feeder. I believe he was waiting for an apology.

Looks like he was expecting one, David.

Some from me today. I bought more sunflower seeds today and the squirrels showed up in a flash. At one point there were nine in the yard, then my nephew walked across the yard and they scattered. And I was able to get the photos on the computer using the new cable that came with my new K-50.

Have more to process will load later tonight or tomorrow.

That's how you do it Photolady! Sunflower seeds work every time! Love your shots lately!

I love a little Chippy...so does Otis, he calls them "Toy Squirrels".

On a more serious note
....Today I was pondering the true meaning of life....and how to find the joy so many seek and never find. This little girly squirrel helped me out and told me it could be found easily in an ear of corn. I guess it may be just that simple?

Puts a smile on her little face!

Thanks Rupert, love the little squirrel, she does seem quite happy.

Sometimes it is the often overlooked simple things in life that give us the most joy.

Thank you Scorpio! Yes, a cold beer or glass of iced tea on a hot afternoon can often bring that same little smile! It is always the little things in life that bring the most joy and pleasure....how we forget! Squirrels are just smarter than we are.....they never forget an easy meal!

Thanks Rupert!
I tried corn on the cob dried of course but I have to figure out how to put them out without said squirrels taking it and running off with the whole cob. I'm slowing working on getting more feeders out there. Nephew is going to get me some branches for cheater branches. Need to build some platform feeders too.

Some from this afternoon.
SOOC just a bit contrast increase.

me and my shadow, sort of?

Just use that screw method I told you about for the Cheater Branches and place it on a surface you prefer..or in the trunk of a tree. That's what I use.

They do love the corn, but sunflower seeds are their favorite.

Remember....winter is just months away so make certain your squirrels are storing plenty of fat to make it through the cold days!

My squirrels can all survive an Arctic winter.......

Do your squirrels hibernate? Mine don't. It doesn't get that cold here. In February, it's the coldest month but usually only lasts a few weeks, then it's warm again. But I feed the birds and squirrels year around.

No, they don't need to, it doesn't usually get all that cold here and there is never a shortage of feed for them. I don't think squirrels hibernate anyhow? There is always something for them to steal regardless of the weather.

People ask me ......."Rupert, how can you pick out Otis Squirrel from all the many others?"

It is really easy...he is the one that is always living the life of leisure while others do all the work!

I couldn't see his face...but we know it's him!

I just love sitting out in the blind checking out the action, even if there's not much going on.

I hear you! I sit here in the AC at my desk and view the action, and today I am glad to be in here. It was 100F and very humid....not much action outside, everything was looking for a cooler place down by the lake.

That's a cute little guy Norm. I like your squirrels.

Here is the only one I got today....You can tell it is Alpha- Male Otis......doing some guard duty. He said he thought he heard a bear in the woods and wanted to check it out......

Regards!
