Mine are hiding up in the branches of the big oaks we have here. They'll come down in the evening. I hope anyway. I threw some sunflower seeds out this morning for them. I will not buy beer.......They are just out of luck on that wishing.

Not a bad decision Photolady.....once you start they won't let up until you make it a regular routine. They throw their empty cans and bottles all over the yard, puke on the deck when they've had too much, pee in the plant containers, and party all night like drunken sailors....No, it's not a bad decision at all!

Regards!

One more reason not to get them started on cold beer Photolady. In the August heat they are already drunk before noon.

Disgusting little critters!

Regards!

British one taken with Vivitar 300mm F5.6 lens and Vivitar 1.5x TC at ISO 1600. We used to have lots of squirrels running round the gardens of the houses at the back of mine, till the developers bought a portion of 3 of the back gardens plus 1 whole plot and built 11 new houses and an access road on the land. Where I could barely see a house before, the new 3, 4 and 5 bedroom houses now provide a less attractive outlook for me. The bats are mostly gone too, only ever see the odd one flying about.

Around here, wooded areas provide A/C by pumping water from the aquifer to the leaves, where the cooling process known as evaporation occurs. Thus, although the temperature was over 90F today, I went for a walk since my duties took me to a local college campus. Our local fox squirrels are a hardy bunch - they take their duties seriously, so I wasn't at all surprised when this guy wanted to be sure I knew he was watching me {from a safe distance of twenty feet above me and behind a curtain of leaves}. Nothing but water for him ... but he does get to luxuriate in an air-conditioned home.

Handsome even when youngsters!

Wow! You got a deal! Nice shots, I really like the last one, so cute!

Regards!

We need more squirrel shots, I need to do some advertising around here and see if I can get more to post here! There are never "too many" squirrel shots!

Love it Carol! Isn't that a neat view of a squirrel's world! Fast moving little critters through all that brush terrain too! Thanks a ton for that one!

Sure was, wasn't it!

No K1 for Otis...the last time I left a camera on the deck, squirrels tried to eat it. They did get a chunk out of the strap, but just in time I saved the camera...a K20D.
