I saw this squirrel during my walk today - seems to think s/he is a prairie dog.

The weather was nice, I was outside. What possible excuse could there be for not posting rodent shots.

There is a huge squirrel fight happening 12 feet away. And it's clearly of concern to this guy. He's watching the action with great focus.

Many years ago, when our younger daughter was old enough to walk but not to talk, I saw a rabbit out in our garden, so I ran out to chase it away; when I got back inside, she made her loyalties clear by pummeling me with her little fists {she couldn't believe that her Daddy was just like Farmer McGregor!!}.

NOW, 20+ years later, I saw this squirrel-relative out in our yard, away from the garden, so I took the time to take his picture; apparently I {and our cats} made him nervous, because he left just after I took this picture {thru a plate glass patio door}. I'm guessing that knot on his ear is another one of those fly infestations.

note: I took this picture with an old film-era AdaptAll 60-300mm lens + backend doubler on a K-30.

I have so many rodents running around getting ready for winter right now, they seem to be every where. I just point my camera where a neat shot might happen, ands sooner or later they turn up.

These three were captured through the glass of a sliding door with an smc Pentax F 1:4.5-5.6 100=300mm on a K-S2.

Titles are:
"Yes, It Is Quite A Handsome Tail, Isn't It?"
"I'm Portraying A Pointer Dog"
"I'm Pretending I'm A Prairie Dog"

Great shots as usual here I was able to snap this guy getting a drink from the creek tonite as it was getting dark. I didn't see him at first, but the swishing tail gave him away. K100D with M75-150/4 (heavy crop):

Since your picture stopped the tail, I had trouble finding him even though you told me he was there.

This captures Chippy, at least for me - shy, reclusive, gentle and always timidly poking his head out from the the edge of the garden.
But make no mistake he's no pushover. He's a tenacious survivor in our garden in spite of all the free ranging cats in the neighborhood.
I always like to see the little guy and/or girl.

Does this count? Neighbor was taking shots of(at) local squirrel but missed. Bagged our window!
We had nice friendly chat about that.
