So proud of his new winter coat on a cold rainy and wet day!

Got Squirrels? Post them here!

BTW- The rumor going around that the reason old Norm has not been posting is not true! He did not turn them all into Brunswick stew and eat them, it is a vicious lie!

Regards!

My squirrel refused to turn around for the picture, no matter how many times I thumped on the window.

nice butt!

I actually have theory about that...
if they don't make eye contact, they don't have to run

I've been through this with a lot of critters I've happened upon over the years

I went out, opened my back window to shoot some squirrels. Threw some sunflower seeds, some peanuts, and some bread all I got were birds, a new woodpecker as yet ID'd, a few finches, and some cardinal shots. Still waiting on the squirrels.

You guys made Otis day! He was a little depressed that no one was posting here and now he is all smiles!

He wants each of you to get this coveted award for your service....He wanted to give a speech of thanks to each of you but I talked him out of it...you can thank me later!

Regards! & Keep them coming!

BTW- Otis reminds that his highest award is up for the poster that sends him 50# of fresh roasted peanuts and a six pack of cold beer. I told him it was out of place to post that here, but he said it is perfectly "Copacetic". No use in arguing with him....

Only a few have this award...and I'm not one of them.

wait a second, I was the one who identified the "Promised Land" - the State of Georgia see post #1050

Did you know:
♦ Georgia produces 48% of
the United States’ peanuts.
♦ About 70 counties in Georgia
produced 1,636,800,000 lbs.
of peanuts in 2011.
♦ Georgia has approximately
14,000 farms with peanuts
and about 3,500 active
farmers.
♦ Georgia has approximately
200 peanut related businesses.

________________________

In the U.S. these are the major peanut producing states: VIRGINIA, NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA, GEORGIA, FLORIDA, ALABAMA, TEXAS, OKLAHOMA, NEW MEXICO, MISSISSIPPI.

In the United States, ten states grow 99% of the U. S. peanut crop: Georgia (which grows about 42% of all U. S. peanuts), followed by Texas, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Virginia, Oklahoma and New Mexico. These states are grouped into three regions. The Georgia-Florida-Alabama-Mississippi region (Southeast) grows mostly the medium-kernel Runner peanuts. The Southwest region (Texas-Oklahoma-New Mexico) grows Spanish, Runner and some Virginia type varieties. The Virginia-Carolinas area grows mostly the large-kernel Virginia type peanut. About 68% of all U. S. peanuts are grown in the Southeast, with the Virginia/Carolina area accounting for 13% and the Southwest, about 18%."

For what it's worth, my nephew who lives in this house with me and his mother was a peanut farmer for more than 30 years. The farm he worked on was located in northern Florida.
