Maybe we should make it required reading for everyone in the group. The travelling squirrel book. I bet I could et an image of a squirrel appearing to read it.
It's a thick read...may take me a while with my limited time.....due to being extra lazy. But......you PM me a mailing address and I will see that you get it now, in the next few days. I wouldn't do this for just anyone, but you are the best squirrel shooter here by a mile! You need this book, it is wonderful!

Regards!

PM me that mailing address......I promise I won't give it to Otis and his Army of Squirrels!

squirrels don't really need those high-speed low-drag shades they wear?...fascinating!

I have a cataract in one eye that does that

it's great until I start post processing

If old Norm keeps up the fine squirrel shots, returns to being "Old Grumpy Norm" at least once in a while.....he might get this, which is much better than any old apple!

Few have this Coveted Award!

I miss some great shots from being a half second too slow......a damn squirrel can be halfway across town before you can fully depress the shutter button!

I can attest to that too.

So fast I didn't get his front half in focus.

Poised to get into the Sunflower seeds

I have a feeder on the back fence. I nicknamed this guy Gordon after Flash Gordon because he is fast...... I think I took this one with my Pentax 55-300mm DA ED.

If that were my shot, I'd be more interested in a camera that handles high ISO better, because that is close enough for me.

From my backyard blind.

K-3 and Tamron SP AF 300mm 2.8 LD [IF] and F 1.7x AF Adapter (510mm, ƒ4.5)
(there's an F 1.7x in the market place at a great price.)

640 ISO, ƒ5.6 AV (1/160s to 1/500s)

King Squirrel is back. He comes to the closest to my tree stump, climbs up and looks in the window at me. "Dude, is there going to be peanuts today?" Unfortunately closer than minimum focusing distance.

And the second in command among squirrels at the far end of the feeder.
