K-3 and Vivitar M 135mm ƒ 2.8
400 ISO, ƒ2.8, 1/2000s

I don't know why but this guy was running off all takers today. There was jumping an leaping and squaring off like a boxing match, he was the one left standing.

I was lying in the snow on my belly, half behind a tree... I think he was sizing me up considering taking a run at me.

He's got that "what you looking at?" expression.

Ask me how hard it is to get in focus exposures tracking a squirrel with a manual focus lens. If I was shooting film, these images would have cost me 2 rolls of 36 exposure film, for maybe 10 exposures in focus.

Very nice shots. Even more so due to manually focusing on that little critter.

Some fine squirrels and squirrel shots lately.

Damn, I started this thread and have been negligent in posting and monitoring it...shame on me! Hope Otis doesn't notice!

Caught this guy by surprise this morning.....

Here is an old baby photo of Otis, wasn't he handsome even way back then!

I'll try to do better here......and Otis will see to it, no doubt!

Regards! & Thanks for every squirrel posted!

It has been an odd winter. Unseasonably warm but not many squirrels out.

The squirrels were out of control out there today. I had send the border collie after them.

The hawk knew it was a trick...hundreds of Otis' Army squirrels waiting in the woods for a raptor dinner!

He's sorta out on a limb, but he still looks great!

Squirrel rescue

While photographing the birds I see a squirrel dash down the tree, do a frantic dash over and around several large potted plants, it then picked up something from behind a clump of plants and quickly went back up the large pine. At first I thought it was carrying a large pine cone but upon further inspection..... Wow baby fell out of nest and needed rescued!

I was relieved after reading your story, because when I first saw the pictures I thought, 'what farm store would sell baby squirrels for a squirrel feeder, and how vicious the squirrels must be to eat them?'
