Marcus did you get photos of the swan that bit you? That would be something at least.
Need you ask?

In the last one I think he's drooling because he thinks my hand looks tasty.

I love those squirrels with the extra fur on the ends of there ears. Yes, funny looking but still cute!

Walt, that's one fat squirrel. I've never seen one that fat here.

Chubby is fat:

Around here, a squirrel like that is wolf, or fox, or marten, or hawk or owl food. Heck, my little Aussie Shepherd has come close to catching my nimble squirrels.

This swan in a lovely park, presumably guarding its territory and nest, bit my leg several times, piercing my trousers and skin. Third image was originally posted about three or four years ago.

That's a heavy price to pay wpresto, but us forumites gotta have images for our viewing pleasure. It's a tough dangerous job, but someone has to do it. I can't believe you waited to take a picture while that goose was biting you. That's really taking one for the team. I swear if I ever get bit by a Pine Marten, Fox, Bear or Wolf, there's not going to be any pictures of them with their teeth sunk into my leg.

I should fetch out that pair of trousers and take a picture of the little holes. The swan bit me first when I wasn't looking, then I waited for it to return several times as I didn't always catch the actual bite. Had to check the EXIF to remind myself this was taken with a K20D + Sigma 17-70mm. And the place: Bok Tower Gardens in Florida.

The squirrels at a local college where I sometimes go to photograph them have a reputation for being too aggressive sometimes - and that can be an issue since they could have rabies, so sometimes I wear my workbooks. On the other hand, my local squirrel is rather timid. She was out there Saturday when I went out to fill the feeders, and she ran off ....... not to be seen the rest of the day.

I have never seen aggressive behavior from my squirrels towards me. I've fed them peanut butter off the fork I use to spread it on the trees, my hand and fingers mere inches from their teeth. I've stood within two feet of some, and never had one act aggressive. I usually walk around in my yard barefooted.

Be careful when hand-feeding squirrels. Even if they are not aggressive, the smell of food, especially something like peanut butter, near or worse on your fingers - - - Squirrels are not dogs who "never bite the hand that feeds it."

If it smells like food, who am I to question?

True. I am careful that there is no peanut butter on my hands, just on the end of the fork.

Many years ago I was bitten by a squirrel, it was injured and I suspect it panicked when it bit me. Health Canada had it tested for rabies and sent me the results. Thankfully it wasn't rabid. As the phrase goes once bitten, twice shy - I'd never do that again unless I had the appropriate protective gear.

As friendly as my squirrels seem to be, they're still wild animals and I would never attempt to pick one up, injured or not.

No danger from this squirrel - he wasn't very close and I had to reach out with my old M75-150/4 zoom to capture this. He was busy with a pecan anyway
