Magnificent! I'll have to keep my eyes open for silhouette shots.

Last Spring, this squirrel ate the food I provided, but he kept retreating to the food box ..... no matter how much he ate in peace, he was still afraid that there must be a danger around somewhere.

A red squirrel! Nice, we never see them in London.

Yesterday I was testing a telephoto converter and took a series of pictures out of my back window, which looks out onto a flat roof. I'd just taken the "before" pictures (with a standard lens) and was in the middle of putting on the teleconverter when a small squirrel appeared on the edge of the roof, having climbed up the ivy from the garden. He looked around, noticed me, and dived back down again so fast I didn't get any photos. Unfortunately this is typical of my luck with squirrels lately...

Better check your place for concealed cameras - they seem to know when you cannot photograph them.

Today was the first time we've had a squirrel in the open since last Spring. First he checked the ground around the tree where I hang the squirrel food box, as though anyone had missed anything last
Spring, then climb the tree ..... only to find that I haven't yet replaced the Wren box with the Squirrel box. After thinking about the situation while grooming himself, he left. I guess he'll be back - or some one else will.
