I have not seen a squirrel much since one decided to try out my humane rat trap, I do not know if this was the one but it is nice to see him or her. Looks like the right ear may have been slightly damaged in the past.
Pentax DA 55-300mm at 300mm and heavily cropped.

i went out on a walk today to see how the stores at our local {strip}mall are dealing with the pandemic. In view of the purpose of this walk, I took only the FA 28-105mm with my K-30, but partway there I saw this guy high it a treetop watching me, so I took his photo also. When I got home and cropped the photo, I discovered that a tiny twig had been in the way - but I think it is an interesting view anyway.

I went out this evening to throw some peanut butter sandwiches for the squirrels, and some bread for squirrels and birds. Didn't see any birds but the squirrels were there.

The next two are named Hopper by my brother because he seems to hop across the yard instead of running. He's been here for two years now.

All shot with my new to me, DA 55-300mm WR RE PLM lens.

A little squirrel trying to blend in with the dead tree.

This one, not blending so well.

He's giving you a Clint Eastwood eye squint in that second picture.

When I first put up the feeders last fall, the squirrels checked out the "squirrel proof" bird feeder, but quickly turned to the "squirrel feeder" and the seeds on the ground dropped by sloppy eaters {and me in my clumsiness}. Now, that we are nearing end of the 'feeding season', now that nature has started providing food again, they are back at it.

It's amazing how far they can stretch those bodies to reach out of reach food, especially sunflower seeds.

I got this one processed last evening, also shot with the 55-300mm PLM at 260mm so I could shoot in low light.

I don't normally feel sympathy for the Blue Jays - they wake me up in the morning with their cries - but this one waited and waited and waited.

Eventually he went off and looked for another source of food. The squirrel saw no reason to hurry - this is the squirrel feeder afterall
