Spectators

The squirrel was resting in this position when the mourning dove landed on the rail. The image was captured through the glass of a sliding door. The lens is an older Pentax 100mm macro lens on a Pentax K-S2.

ChowDown

We finally have a couple squirrels back in the yard. It took some months, but one finally figured out how to get on top of the anti-squirrel-guard on the feeder, and he was chowing down as fast as he could.

Haven't seen any squirrels in weeks but wild life seen from my back window this week includes a feral parakeet raiding an ornamental cherry tree in the next garden, and a young fox which went for a stroll on the shed roof, then slid forward on the fairly smooth plastic and eventually fell off, unfortunately concealed by the edge of the flat roof outside my flat - luckily it wasn't hurt, I saw it later and it was OK. Not bad for the middle of London!

Parakeet pictures Nikon D7000 with Vivitar Series 1 100-500mm
Fox pictures Pentax K200D with Miranda 70-210mm

Squirrels can almost always find food under bird feeders - most birds are sloppy eaters.

I've seen bird tossing food to the ground, to get the peanut they wanted higher up in the feeder.

A picture from last Spring, just after I stopped filling the Squirrel Feeder and just before I stopped filling the Bird Feeder {I ran out of "Squirrel and Critter" food first}
He was still checking the Squirrel Feeder with hope, then was reduced to seeing what the birds had tossed.
