Originally posted by reh321 I plan to start feeding the wildlife on our Thanksgiving Day {next Thursday}, but yesterday was a very nice day, so I hung the Squirrel Feeder just before we ate lunch. While we were eating, my wife noticed this guy inspecting my work - no matter how much he openly waits for food, he will still have to wait until next Thursday to get any.
I think he will get a bit irritated at you by then. They also have a pretty good memory for those that irritate them. One time when we were camping, our oldest son (about 11 at the time) was tired of this squirrel chattering at him and so he threw a pinecone at it, not even coming close, but making the squirrel run. The rest of that four day weekend, pinecones would fall out of the sky and either hit or come close to my son. When you looked up, there was a squirrel in the tree. To this day I think my son is wary of any squirrel he runs into.
