Brave (but stupid?) Squirrel

Lots of acorns; very few squirrels for obvious reasons!

Maybe he had some help guarding him as he munched?

Hard to catch them in flight...you need speed and light, and I seldom get both at the right time.

Jumper is the jumpingest squirrel I have ever seen and I've seen plenty of squirrels. He delights in jumping from place to place and can jump great distances. I guess he gets a thrill out of it?

He is also a happy little guy...always glad to be alive!

Squirrels are beginning to reappear around here. This fat one turned up today looking for some fresh sap.

@redox61 That's a cute little guy!

Nice Squirrel Rupert.

I haven't shot any squirrels lately, we had a death in our family. My sister that lived here in the same house as me passed away last Friday night and I haven't been in a mood to take photos of any kind.

So sorry to hear that Photolady...my sincere condolence. Was it a sudden event or somewhat anticipated? Either way it is a sad experience and I know you are devastated. If there is anything we can do to ease your pain, let us know......we will say our prayers for you and your family.

Regards
Rupert

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers Rupert.
No it wasn't sudden and we knew it wouldn't be long before she died after learning she had cancer and her age, 82, we knew there wasn't anything that could be done. She'd been sickly for almost two years, in and out of the hospital every month.

In my mind, I believe it's a blessing. She's no longer in pain. But it's still hard to cope with her death, and her son, who's taking care of her these last few years is devastated.

This was a really small one, maybe born this year not sure how fast they grow. It was very quick and only posed for a second for me.
