World’s fastest E-mount lens (f/0.85) now shipping in Germany!

IBELUX 40 mm / 0.85 | HandeVision

QuoteQuote:
The HandeVision IBELUX 40/0.85 with its lens speed of 1:0,85 is the worldwide highest speed lens for system cameras. For optimal exposure in any situation. Under any light conditions. Due to its standard focal length of 40 mm, the applications for this lens are most versatile. And the result is extremely unique: Pictures with exceptional bokeh and charm.

Due to the low focal depth you can exceptionally well focus on your motif. The lens speed can be selected on the lens across the linearly graded aperture with whole detents ranging from 0.85 to 22. Focussing and exposure time setting takes place manually. Disturbing sunlight? No problem – the lens comes with an integrated sun shade.

An this global novelty offers even more: Sophisticated engineering and precision down to the smallest detail. Elegant design in retro look. Developed by the German lens specialist IB/E Optics GmbH. The expensive optical design with 10 multi-coated lenses paves the way to optimal image results and sensational imaging quality. Ten lens discs, which have been specially calculated and manufactured for this lens, form the basis for the unique bokeh. Discover a brilliant colour representation with high contrast. Thanks to the coating, undesired reflections are problems from days gone by.

Long lasting fascination: The use of anodized aluminium, brass for the focussing mechanics and stainless steel ensures extreme robustness and longevity.

If you took a 55/1.2 lens and get one of these: Metabones®, wouldn't it be just as "fast" and yet less expensive ?
(Idea stolen from another site ...

Too bad the optical transmission will probably be comparable to a f/1.4 lens. Any idiot can design a lens with a f/0.85 aperture but to actually get the lens to transmit greater than 95% of the light that passes through it is the tricky part.

Maybe.
Metabones®

The Speedbooster is for APS-C mode so use the Metabones Smart Adapter III for full frame E mount cameras like the VG900, A7,A7r and A7s.

Metabones® introduces third-generation Smart Adapter™ for mounting EF and EF-S mount lenses on Sony NEX cameras. Smart Adapter™ III is now also compatible with the full-frame NEX camera VG900, with auto-crop support so that both full-frame and cropped lenses can be used without any configuration. This is not a Speed Booster™ but maximum aperture and focal length remain unchanged. It retains existing features such as a detachable AS-style quick release plate, chrome-plated brass for all mounting surfaces, EXIF, autofocus and image stabilization (IS) lens support. Since its advent in 2012, the Metabones® Smart Adapter™ has become an indispensable tool for the most demanding cinematographers and other professionals, and it has been continuously refined based on customer input. Smart Adapter™ III is available right now at US$399+applicable tax/duty from Metabones' distributors in many countries all over the world and the Metabones® online shop.

So, are you going to get one? The maker promises "long lasting fascination". Am I seeing correctly that the lens has a fully manual diaphragm?

I prefer my fast full frame 24mm, 35mm,50mm and 85mm F1.4 primes on my E mount VG900. I use my Voigtländer Nokton 25mm f/0.95 on my GH4.

I would expect. The lens above is intended for small sensors from what I can tell.
