And 645Z is due to start going on sale on June 27.
What a coincidence Nikon will be announcing their camera one day beforehand..

It will surely get Nikon into the #4 spot ahead of Toyota.

You're thinking of the D15.

Well Nikon is owned by Mitsubishi, no?
Will it have the same sensor as the D800?

I thik the D800 had one bug at the start and short lived and much fewer than the new K-3 with its flapping mirror and all.

If real, I like the ISO scroll wheel for those of us who shoot totally manual.

Who cares? The 645Z is supposed to be sold out for the year anyway.

Remember the Datsun 810? It was sort of hunched up and weird looking, in the somewhat mystifying '70's Japanese ideom... but not quite as weird as the B210, a.k.a., the Atomic Cockroach.

I think the D800 had one bug at the start and short lived and much fewer than the new K-3 with its flapping mirror and all.
Actually, the D800 had a problem with focus plane asymmetry in the viewfinder, not fixable via firmware upgrade, of course... AND it had (and still has) a just plain dumb design flaw in the scaling algorythm for downsampling to the resolution of the LCD screen in live view. Other than that, it's perfect.

Not to say the D800 isn't a good camera, but by comparison, the K3's little mirror kerfuffle is just an occasional annoyance* -- if an initially disconcerting one -- and probably (there's some reason to think) about to have its firmware remedy very soon. And the Nikon will still be flawed, even by certain D3300 standards. BTW, what's the "and all" I'm supposed to be worried about?

* Maybe somewhat more than a once-in-a-while annoyance if you're a pro "on the clock", I might concede.

Nikon D810 leaks hours before the official announcement

QuoteQuote:
The UK website Expertreviews published their review of the Nikon D810 camera and then promptly removed it. Here are the details from the article - pretty much what I have ben reporting for months now:

the UK price will be £2,700 (around $4,580, the US price should be lower)
sensor: 36.3MP (new sensor?)
LCD screen: 3.2" (1,299K dots) with new split-screen mode
card slots: CF + SDXC
Expeed 4 image processing engine
no optical low pass filter (OLPF)
ISO 32-51200 in extended mode, ISO 64-12800 in regular mode
shutter speed range: 1/8000-30s
improved auto-focus (including Group Area AF mode for the D4s)
no 4k video
video recording: added 50/60p
redesigned shutter with new kevlar/carbon fibre-composite unit; reduced shutter lag; quieter operation
the metering mode button is moved to the main control dial
improved grip

Hmmm.... not that I have a D800, but it doesn't seem like it's worth it to upgrade.
