Woohoo, New Camera!

I just received a new (to me) field camera, a Zone VI 4x5 by Wista. It is nearly 40 years old but looks near new, like it was never used.

I snagged it for $500.00. These are still being made as the Wista DX II and go for $2800.00 new. Mine supposedly has plated gold hardware.

Can't wait to go hiking up in the mountains with it!

For right now. I have a Fujinon W 125mm F5.6 coming in a few days though.

I am on the lookout for a 280mm-300mm lens for my next lens.

Yeah, I'm looking at getting a Berlebach tripod as soon as funds allow. This camera just doesn't look right on a black aluminum tripod.

It sure is. These photos don't do it justice. She is small and light too, at 3.5 lbs. and 7.3 x 8.3 x 3.8" folded.

I've been looking on the auction site, but I found this one at KEH in EX+ condition.

I sure will, although this will be my main traveling LF camera. I'm going to order a fitted case for it.

A 90mm is handy for landscapes. Possibly that and wider will need a recessed lens board.
Yeah, I am looking at the various 90mm F8 lenses available. I want to keep all the lenses as small/light as possible for backpacking though.

This camera can use all the way down to a 65mm lens with a normal lens board.

Great shot tuco! Yeah, movements is what large format is all about. That and great tonality in b&w.
