I've always like The Camera Store reviews - down to earth and objective.

Thank you for the video link.
The camera is indeed mind-blowing and deserved;y a hot-pick this Photokina.
Kudos to Panasonic / Leica.

Some new jpeg samples - looks promising - looking forward to some raw samples myself.

If those are ooc jpegs, then the possible quality when working with raw looks to be amazing!

For example, even at F11, where presumably there is quite a bit of diffraction, the corners (to say nothing of the center) looked quite sharp. And the bokeh appears to be very smooth, both front and back.

And yet another new review. This one actually has a couple raw samples but neither my Acdsee Pro 7 or Lightroom 4.4 will recognize them.

Another feature that I forgot about is the WiFi and remote capability. I really wanted an articulating screen on this next camera for myself, but if I can use my tablet as a remote like this I would be more than happy. Any thoughts if that feature would work with my iPod Air (as noted in the WiFi section of this review)?

Time to ditch basic DLSR plus a kit lens idea forever.
This amazing new compact redefines the concept of a capable, contemporary compact camera.

I know. I told myself that my next compact camera would have an articulating screen. Since my disability I really need one as I can't get on the ground anymore to shoot my closeups. The only saving grace for this might be the remote shooting capabilities with the WiFi to tablet feature but I'm not sure how that works.

Knowing my luck if I bought one the next version will have the articulating screen.......

DPR low light image comparison, same cameras except GM1 for GM5, raw, ISO 3200. Make sure you're viewing the Print version, to equalize resolution.

We have no idea what settings DPR used. They are pretty clumsy. They are not photographers -- they are tech geeks. Based on their 'hands on' samples of many cameras, I would not touch any of those camera they 'review'. I don't have any confidence in their photographic skills. I make on everyday basis far better exposed and better overall images with an ancient K-7 than they could show with the new K-3.
But mind you, even with mediocre JPEG settings compared to today's best JPEG settings, one can comfortably downsample and print an A4. My 10 years old 5MP Minolta can be used for that too and I was using it in JPEG mode all the time. And I sincerely doubt that even 0.1% of camera users ever print larger than 8x10.

We exaggerate a lot when talking about cameras, pretend geekiness and extreme use only to thrash perfectly usable and decent pieces of equipment.

For those interested, you can open the .RW2 files from stormtech's post above in Corel Photo-Paint X4. Someone mentioned LR 4.4 wouldn't open them.
