If I was Canon (or Nikon), I would stay away from this type of publicity. Unfortunately, not enough people know/care enough about issues of this sort.

A lot of really good sports,portrait,landscape togs - probably 6/10 togs in the world seem to be taken in by the hype though - just saying;-)

It's interesting how badly the photographic community has reaacted to this POS. On /p/, the second "Abandon Ship" thread has sailed past the bump limit by more that 70 posts.
Maybe Canon's real plan is to make them look bad and out of touch for a while, and then they will release something amazing.

It's not like you can't take a good picture with a Canon. But their cameras are clearly not up to the level of the competition, and their marketers are clearly hoping that no one notices.

Canon cameras are not hype.

But they haven't gotten better since 2007, either. Everybody else has.
