Canon HV20 lens cover dust

Has anyone experience in Canon HV20 camcorder lens cover repair? In my camera there is sand in lens cover and using service manual I opened lens cover until motor then stop, since there was no explanation how to do this part. Is there any pictures how to manage this problem.

Here are pictures what I have done:

Please, help!

John

I suspect that you probably have better chance of getting response if you post this on Canon forum instead..

sand is keeping the lens cover from shutting down? it looks like it's stuck open.

are you here in the states? you can pick up used minidv camcorders for real cheap on shopgoodwill.com, i wouldn't spend any more time on it.

hd camcorder is the way to go.
