My Nikon 1 system

Had some spare time yesterday, so took some pictures of my growing Nikon 1 system.

I bought a pink Nikon J1 a few years ago because I couldn't resist - it was so pretty - many people still comment on the camera whenever they see it

And I even found a pink bag for it:

But I bought a Nikon 1 V2 post Xmas, and then GAS took over. My Nikon system now looks like this:

Here is the V2 in it's most compact form - with the 10mm prime

And this is the biggest lens I have for it - the 70-300 ultra telephoto

The whole package is surprisingly portable - I bought two bags for the system

Nice! I'm still on J1 and V1. Contemplating selling the V1 and getting V2. Am not in the least interested in the V3.

How do you find the weight of that 70-300, I've been tossing up about getting that to add to the system, or selling all my Nikon1 stuff and getting the Panasonic FZ1000. Not as much reach, but the balance looks better (plus, no lens change fiddling)

It's surprisingly light. The V2 with the 70-300 feels lighter than a DSLR with a kit lens.

I am now tempted to buy the ultra wide angle zoom and make it a complete kit. It's pretty much the perfect camera to take on a bushwalk - so light and small. Also good for a business trip as it wont take too much space in cabin baggage.

I agree - the V3 is going in the wrong direction - I hope Nikon wakes up and release a true successor to the V2.

PS - The white V2 is currently $394 at JB Hi Fi. No brainer for anyone wanting a mini DSLR at a compact camera price.

Nice to see another Nikon 1 fan. I'm itching for the V2 and 70-300 for birding.

How do you find the Nikon J/V1 they have been coming up fairly cheap on the 2nd hand market over here in the UK.
Quite fancied a small system camera just to play with and the J1 is coming up about the price of a 2nd hand original Pentax Q over here. I just need to stop buying 110 film SLRs………

Cheers, Steve

Oh Gawd. I didn't get back here to see your reply, and have probably missed out on that deal! I will check, though Oh wait. White. Nah.

Just do it, Steve. I still like my J1 with the 10mm permanently attached
