Nice fowl in flight. Have you ever tried doing a panomerge after capturing a BIF?

Taking pictures of the entire rectangular area after you do a bird in flight and merging it into a large rectangular image in PS with the bird in flight going across it.

I see
what's hard is I loose where the camera focused plane and its just too hard to try and place the focus plane back to its placement for the same OOF areas

when I have enough area around the subject or the subject moves relatively parallel to the ground things work out

After reviewing the duck in flight it should not have been to bad to just focus where the duck took off from.

Great shot. Years ago a guy told me loons come by his dock every morning and asked if wanted to come over and get a few shots. I declined. Big mistake. The guy was a big buyer in the world o photography. He's bought 20x30 canvases from both Tess and I. He has a cathedral ceiling in his kitchen with a huge stone wall with at least 12 prints always on display. and of course a dedicated room to store prints he's not displaying. Honestly, if you meet a guy like that and he offers you a chance to stay at his place and shoot loons in the morning, go for it. We've since pretty much lost contact, and I still don't have my perfect loon shot.
