Nikon D7200 - which sensor?

DXOMark just published D7200 test results - 14.6 evs of dynamic range, exceeds even A7. Any idea about the sensor?

Perhaps it is an update to an original design like what is found in the K-3?

I guess it is time to ditch the A7 and buy a D7200, eh?

Steve
There're rumors on a new APS-C flagship model making its appearance before the FF this October (probably the upgrade on K3), I'd hold off buying any Nikon bodies as of yet....

There is some speculation that its a updated Toshiba sensor that is found in the D7100
If we look at the color channel response data that others have tabulated you can see it match's well with other Toshiba sensors and not Sony

That's crazy. How could an APS-C sensor come that close to a full frame sensor? Three points difference is not visible in real world shooting. Clearly DXO Mark needs to take it back to the lab, retest and drop it by two or three points.

(a little sarcasm in the above statement).

Clearly the A7/D600 still have an advantage in high iso/low light settings. It is interesting the D600 dynamic range curve lies right on top of the D7200 curve -- probably no difference in dynamic range performance at given iso levels.
